Accurate and Powerful Left-Tilting Table Saw
Powered by a 1.5-horsepower, single-phase, 115/230-volt motor, the Powermatic 64 features a left-tilting arbor that lets the user tilt the blade away from the fence. This eliminates the need for a sacrificial fence and reduces the risk of your work piece binding under the blade.

It also comes with a beveled front edge to facilitate smooth transitions of the miter gauge as it moves over the front edge of the table.

No matter the size or thickness of the work piece, the Powermatic 64's exclusive 3VX belt offers increased efficiency--especially when compared to standard belts--and less vibration for smooth operation. And when dealing with wider stock, users will appreciate the T-slot miter gauge with positive stops.

Versatile, Expandable Design
For greater versatility, two cast-iron wings, a melamine-surfaced wood extension table, and an independent leaf safety guard come standard, while a lockable push-button switch with removable safety key protects against accidental starts.

And to help users get started right away, the quick-connect power cord reduces assembly time.

Accu-Fence with 30-Inch Rip Capacity
The Powermatic 64 comes equipped with an Accu-Fence with a rip capacity of 30 inches to the right of the blade for reliable accuracy and to help make each job faster and more precise. This fence length is particularly ideal for a home shop where space is an issue.

For greater speed and accuracy, an interior spring applies constant pressure when not locked down, which takes the slop out of fence movement. Also, replaceable sides with easy-access screws allow quick adjustment close enough to the tabletop so that nothing will slip underneath.

Dimensions and Warranty Information
The Powermatic 64 measures 32 x 34 x 50 inches (W x H x D), weighs 343 pounds, and is backed by a five-year warranty.

Summary: real world 2010-02-13
Comment: Have ownewd and used this saw for 4 yrs . Assenbly takes some time , they all do. Quality better than most! Fence simple and accurate. I am a contractor so I have cut everything on this saw , from the wettest wolmanized wood to the finest of hardwoods, using the same rigid 50 tooth cobination blade , rated best blade under $50 couple yrs back and saw works great . I have not re adjusted this saw since assembly other than the trunnions which seem to have moved a bit a couple of times ( no kiddin I'm constantly bouncin it around on the mobile base in and out of the garage) My opinion I think to many machinists want to be woodworkers, and rate this saw! The same guys that wind up makin pens on their $3000 lathe. I am a perfectionist as far as finished product is concerned that is why I also have a planer and a joiner! There's a reason why they make those tools as well. Remember to call yourself a cabinet maker you need to know how to make cabinets!

Summary: An Overrated Brand 2008-10-17
Comment: This is a good, relatively inexpensive cast iron table saw. And that is all that it is. The AMZN review by Nancy Gleason is misleading. Left tilt saws are better, but they are ubiquitous. Read the reviews. They are quite accurate and touch on many important aspects.

It is curious that many reviewers make significant criticisms while indicating a very high rating. It is not unusual that this saw's top is not level, the splitter is difficult to adjust, the belt guard is infamous (and has been so for years w/o change), bolt holes are misaligned, and the blade is not parallel to the miter slots. If you are new to woodworking, please understand the importance of these elements.

Summary: Solid machine 2008-05-24
Comment: This is the second powermatic tablesaw I have had the oppurtunity to work with. Assembly was easy, took about 4-5 hours. I had to take some time to get the motor alignment correct, but once everything was done properly it purrrs like a kitten. The accuaracy is great, very solid machine for many years of service. The one and only knock I can think of is the motor alignment. When first asembled I had alot of vibration. After looking closely the belt had rubbed on the guard screws and took a chunk out of it. Replaced belt, confirmed alignment, no problems since. Very happy with saw.

Summary: Gold Standard for 750$? 2008-05-06
Comment: Easy to assemble even for a novice. Took about 4 hours with the help of my Wife. Couple of gripes on set up is the guard for the drive belt. Your drive pulleys must be precisely aligned for it not to rub badly. Also, the blade guard/splitter combo anti kickback mechansims mar the item being cut. The guard splitter is also very bulky and akward to adjust, at least for me. Blade adjustment was neglible due to it being dead on out of the box.

The fence system is excellent, just make sure you align it properly or you will learn the hard way. Popped the breaker a few times, and some very loud/bad noises.

This is my first table saw and went with reputation and reviews, it is worth the 750$ I paid.

Summary: Just got most of it 2008-03-23
Comment: I just received most of the saw, the fence rail is missing, it's on the way. I assembled the saw lined everything up, but it vibrates. I don't know how this thing can pass a nickel test. I lined the pulleys up with a 32 inch level so they are pretty dead on. I notice the motor shakes a bit on start up and shut down, does this change if I wire it for 230? Any other helpful hints on getting it to stop shaking will be helpful.
