Laguna Tools Tablesaw Left-tilt w/ T-square Fence

The saw itself was a 1, but the support of both Rockler personnel (the store I bought the saw from) and Laguna personnel was superb, so I'm rating it a 2.

The old adage about the cobbler's kids being the last to have shoes? Well, I believe we have the worst cabinets on the block, and I've done quite a few cabinet jobs in the past. I was so excited to get this saw. I was making some really good progress on our own kitchen, and figured this saw would speed up the process. Between the price and features, this had all the makings of a long and happy life in my shop.

First, were the issues of the delivery of the first saw. Laguna's choice of shippers only delivered to residential addresses one day a week. I have made my living for most of my adult life as either a carpenter, cabinet maker or at times a home builder. Needless to say that I have used and/or owned several cabinet saws over the years. I purchased a Laguna Platinum Series Dovetail Trunnion saw to work along side an older Jet that I had a particular job site over three years ago. I still own the Laguna and cuss it nearly every day. This saw has been nothing but a big pain in the rear since day one. I have been though two motors due to bearing noise and/or complete freeze up. Neither motor has the actual ability to cut through any species of wood that is thicker than 6/4. In fact this saw will bog down cutting 3/4 sheet goods. As if that is not bad enough-the measurement tape on the sliding fence was off by over 1/16 within the first twenty-four inches and needed to be replaced with a quality Starrett tape.
