I went from a 3 1/4 hp to this 1 1/2. Boy, what a difference! I don't have the hp to rip 8/4 stock and I get a lot of binding between the fence and the blade. I cannot seem to keep the fence adjustments set so I need to reset for every project. The table is nice and heavy but again, I couldn't seem to get everything aligned properly. Overall this is definitely a step up for someone using a ryobi contractors saw but if you are a serious hobbiest or a pro don't go here. Save your $$ for the 3 hp or the pm2000.
