Over the years, JET has carried everything from snowmobiles, transmitter radios, and forklifts to nylon stockings, but by the early 1970s, metalworking had become the base of their business line. And by the 1980s, JET had expanded into the realm of woodworking. Today, you'll find that JET offers a wide range of popular woodworking tools that are backed with best-in-class features and excellent service.

Customer Reviews
Avg. Customer Review: 3.5 Star

Summary: Okay, then dead 2010-07-11
Comment: Like other reviewers, mine was reasonably good for about two years of light use and appropriate maintenance, and then the motor seized. I would not recommend unless you're looking for a disposable table saw.

Summary: Save your money. 2010-04-26
Comment: I researched this saw a little but somehow, managed to ignore all the warnings from other reviews. So, I found it at a local place, with the leg stand and left extension wing for $300. A steal.

I have to say this saw isn't all bad but it should be in the $100 class. I thought since this was a JET it'd be a little bit better made, even for the price.

The table isn't flat for starters, it's high in the middle and slopes down after the miter slots.

The miter slots are a non-standard small size T-Slot. Forget finding anything that will fit them except T-Bolts, which tend to turn and pop out when you try to adjust your feather boards.

There is no zero clearance insert, the throat plate is quite small, the opening is so small a 10" blade almost doesn't fit. It's easier to bring it up under the saw when changing blades then risk chipping the teeth on the narrow opening. Which means since it's so narrow and the tabs that hold the set screws are so shallow, you will not find anything that will work for an insert. Even if you try to make your own (like I did), it'll have to be so thin it will flex and/or break.

Speaking of under the saw, the dust shroud is a joke, period. Even with a 4" hose on a 6.5hp Shopvac, more dust comes out the sides where the legs are attached then out the hookup for the vac. In fact after using it for a while the blade starts to kick up more dust from the clogged shroud then from the wood.

Adjusting the trunnion, it's almost impossible to get at two of the four bolts. The two front bolts are under the table and DIRECTLY above the front panel. I suppose you could take the panel off to get at them with a wrench but then you'd have to take off all the controls as well.

The rip fence isn't square, it isn't even flat, if you hold a straight edge against it, it looks like rippling water. There really isn't any way to adjust it for square mentioned in the manual. I have to keep a speed square by the saw to align the back of the fence whenever I make a cut.

On the plus side, so far the motor has preformed well and the saw isn't nearly as loud as some other tools are. The leg stand is pretty solid and the shelf really comes in handy.

Bottom line though, save your money, buy a real table saw. $700 doesn't seem like so much money when you spend more time setting up and working around the damn thing then using it.

Summary: Needs some tweaking for setup, runs well, miter bar size not standard 2010-04-22
Comment: I owned this saw about a year now and it continues to run well. I had to take a while to get the blade in alignment but once that was set it never came out of alignment. I like the fence. It was a big improvement over the one on my 100 dollar delta saw. It stays aligned. On the delta I would have to nudge it one way or the other and setting up any cut took longer. My only beef with this is that the miter gauge t-slot is not the standard 3/4, 3/8. So when I decided to build a sled and thought it would be good to attach it to a t-bar I could not find one. I called Jet and they said they would get then in stock in about 60 days. The miter gauge t-bar is only 1.48 but shipping would be about 9 dollars. If you can fabricate it out of aluminum then you are set. If not, you wind up making them out of plywood or hardwood and that isn't bad but you can't route the little wings on the bottom that keep it in the slot so it lifts off the track more easily.

Summary: Jet Table saw 2010-02-27
Comment: This company really sucks and I will never buy anything from it again and think twice before ordering off of amazon. when I order this table saw I did not know I was going to have to find missing parts for it later. I have had this machine about a month and never used because because of these missing parts. This is very disappointing for me.

Summary: Ok while it lasted 2010-02-09
Comment: Motor burned up and seized after 2 years of very cared for moderate use. Mainly building custom speaker boxes out of MDF...and a very good blade, not the one that comes with it. Nice while it lasted.
