Factory-Reconditioned Skil 3400-46 15 Amp 10-Inch Table Saw

I purchased the reconditioned Skill Table Saw for two reasons, #1 price and #2 product reputation. The saw was packaged extremely well with no visible damage to the shipping box. I waited a couple of days before I opened the box and set it up. It looked great, just as advertised. Unfortunately when I completed the assembly process I noticed that the table looked bent. I got a level and checked it out.Sure enough, the front left side was bent down 3/8th's of a inch. Of course this is not acceptable. I tried to reorder the saw only to be advised that the item was not available,( even though the web site still shows that it is in stock ). Needless to say that I am not a happy camper. So I learned that products should be opened and inspected as soon as you get it, Me waiting a few days to open the box will more than likely cost me additional money due to the fact that this item is no longer available. I got this saw for free from my credit card points program. It was of exceptionally flimsy construction and arrived broken. The extremely thin plastic base was made of the poorest imaginable plastic. The top aluminum surface was so thin it reminded me of a cheap baking pan. The rip fence was a joke. The only thing that appeared to be of acceptable quality was the motor. I sent it back immediately and requested my points back.

I did need to replace my very old Craftsman table saw, so I got a Ryobi table saw at Home Depot which is of adequate quality and price, and a much better value. I am a home handyman with many years of personal experience.

Standard shipping takes longer than I wanted. The blade shield was not easy to put on the table saw. It never aligned up so i didn't put it on. Also on the guide arm the little black handle that tightens it was broken. i called Skil direct and they shipped a new one at no cost. For the price it's good.
