The box is torn at many corners, and the blue color of the saw can be seen from outside. The saw is set up for immediate use. However the dents at 3 out of four corners, originally thought to be just cosmetic due to the reconditioned nature of the saw, turn out to be major functional defects. The dent on the left corner causes the front rail to be slightly bent, preventing the fence from being used fully on the left side. I am also unable to adjust the spreader of the blade guard to be in line with the blade despite many attempts. On the plus side, the motor is quite impressive: smooth start-up and consistent power result in cuts similar to what I can obtain with a stationary, belt-driven saw. The saw I received does not look new to me, it looks like a used saw. Deep scratches in the table and some sawdust. For a bit more more, you can get the new version with extensions and stand. The money saved buying a slightly beat-up looking used saw isn't worth it. 21 of 22 people found the following review helpful: By sean "froggyhollow" (Yardley, PA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Factory-Reconditioned Bosch 4000-N-RT 10-Inch Worksite Table Saw (Tools & Home Improvement) As other reviewer I too was concerned over the box and minimum of packing used. Fortunately there appear to be only cosmetic blemishes to the fence and underside of the table which still seem to have been inflicted during shipping. Ran a few pieces thru it and it cuts as promised... very strong and smooth. If you want the free table that is now thrown in with a new saw for an extra $100 I would go for the new one. |
