Product Review

The DELTA BC30 30-inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence features a three-point locking system and hairline pointer that lets you do precise table saw work to within 1/64 of an inch. This commercial 30-inch Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence can be mounted on almost any table saw. It has a built-in steel tape. The fence body glides easily and can rip to either side of the blade, making it great for repetitive cut-off work, precise ripping, and squaring cuts. It has a built-in steel tape, and is built out of nine-ply Finland birch with high-impact laminates and fit to solid steel tubing for durability.

Like most others, I have spent a lot of time reading as many reviews about the different fences that are available and was having a tuff time deciding. I was torn between the Vega pro 50 and the Biesemeyer comercial 30 in. I guess what convinced me was the outright mass of the rails compared to the vega. I just wasnt convinced that the vegas rails were able to support an extension table as well as the Biesemeyer. After ordering and receiving the system, I jumped into installing it as soon as possible. Having an older Sears Contractors saw and trying to make the universal rail guides match was a bit difficult as the bolt holes didnt want to line up. So, I ended up moving the rail to the right and ended up with 39 inches of compacity. Not too bad since the system came with table extension legs. The real difficulty came when attaching the rear rail support. I had to put some really large notches in the rail to allow the blade to tilt to a full 45 degrees. Now, with the fence...Read more

Although a huge fan of Delta for over 35 years, I was disappointed with the Biesemeyer fence. I had tolerated the original fence with my unisaw for 30 years. Finally I broke down and bought one of these that everybody raves about. Problem was, to begin with, the front rail holes did not line up. Because of the difficulty sending something like this back, I had my machinist slot the holes so they would line up. Once I got that worked out and adjusted for square, it in fact worked well. That is until about six weeks later when I need to attach a vertical jig to the fence. Come to find out the fence was out of plumb about 1/32 inch top to bottom, causing a major problem for a vertical jig 12 inches tall. To further complicate things there is no adjustment for plumb on the fence.

I tried calling customer service, which turned into a exercise in futility going back and forth from one to another.

Do I still like Delta? Yes. But their engineering for this particular...Read more

The fence was quick and easy to install using the clear and effective instructions. Threaded holes in the the guide tube for mounting it on the front rail were accurately aligned with the holes in the rail but needed cleaning out with a tap, but that took only a few minutes. It's easy to use and precise.
